Our outdoor stairs are made of Norrland pine and treated with Linax, a surface treatment that provides a deep impregnation with copper-based agent and hot linseed oil under vacuum. This reduces the risk of cracking and provides excellent dimensional stability. The stairs are available in brown (Linax Brown) and gray (Linax Gray) as well as in natural oil (Linax Natur) which turns weather gray over time.
The treatment is transparent, which highlights the natural structure of the wood and gives a beautiful surface with a world of colors. Remember to always treat cut edges and ends with Linax linseed oil glaze when installing.
Outdoor stairs for tough conditions
The steel stairs are hot-dip galvanized, which means that the material is dipped in hot, liquid zinc. This provides very strong protection against corrosion. Our outdoor wooden stairs are deeply impregnated with a non-toxic and environmentally friendly linseed oil, this treatment can increase the lifespan of the wood up to 10 years longer than untreated pine.
It is not only the lifespan that is increased, the wood also gains significantly improved strength as the deep impregnation turns the wood into a natural composite.
