Wing pieces

Our standard flanges are 40 mm (Solid) and 50 mm (Optimal) respectively, but the dimensions may vary depending on the size of the stairs, type of steps and railings. Straight right angles are always the starting point, which means that some stairs get a "kink" so that we can keep the step height the same and the ease of walking at the maximum. If you would rather have the wall piece turned, that is an option with us and there are a few more things that you can choose from when you buy your dream staircase.

Straight, curved or curved side pieces.
Straight wall pieces are standard, but you can also choose curved ones that follow the rise of the stairs in a soft way or bent glued (Special) for round shapes.

Mountin, hidden attachment that gives smooth cheeks.
MountIn® is a patented fitting that provides stairs with a completely smooth exterior with a genuine quality construction. Available as an option for most stairs with side rails. The mounting method provides a hidden attachment under the step and apart from the aesthetic advantages, it provides an easier and significantly less heavy work for our installers and not least an opportunity to retighten the screws in the stairs after installation.

Crumbling
Krymlingsvang or krymlingsstolpe is a very common solution in Denmark and Germany. This means that parts of the wall piece, the inner corner post and/or the handrail are curved, while the other parts of the stairs are perpendicular. It gives a soft, supple feel to an L- or U-shaped staircase.

Straight sideburns
Straight edge pieces are standard regardless of whether you choose a side edge (Solid) or an underlying edge (Optimal) for your stairs.

Curved side pieces are available as an option for Drömtrappor

Curved shoulder pieces
Curved wall pieces follow the rise of the stairs in a soft way. Available as an option for both side and underlying vang.

Bend-glued staircase from Drömtrappor

Curved side pieces
Bend-glued wall pieces belong to the special category. Bending wood is a craft, very beautiful but time-consuming. We bend glue both side and underlying wall pieces and, of course, associated supervisors.

The step is still attached to the wall piece in the same way, but instead of pulling a screw straight through the wall piece or miter screw, the step is mounted on the special fitting that sits in the wall piece and screwed to the underside of the step. The hole is covered with a cover that can be detached and you can then access the stairs if necessary.

Common crumbling options

Crumbling
The inner corner post can be made as a crumbling post (see alt. on the left), but even stairs without a post can be made with crumbling corners on the wall piece. In both options, this is a separate part that is used to join the two flights of stairs together in the inner corner.
