The following are our general handling instructions for wooden stairs.

1. Transport

  • Wooden stairs must be transported in covered vehicles.
  • Unloading must be done by hand with great care.
  • A forklift or equivalent may only be used when the stair parts are loaded on a pallet.

2. Delivery reception

  • Check that the number of parcels matches the waybill.
  • Feel free to open the packaging and check that the contents are ok, but leave all parts in their respective packages until it is time for assembly.
  • Read the Receipt Control document attached to each stair delivery.
  • Transport damage and deficiencies in the scope of delivery must be stated on the waybill.
  • Ev. hidden faults must be reported before installation, but no later than 7 days after receiving the delivery.

3. Storage before assembly

  • Storage next to or on the construction site must take place indoors in a dry, heated and well-ventilated room.
  • Humidity and temperature must not deviate from the normal indoor environment.

4. Mounting

  • Installation of stairs may only take place when construction moisture has been vented out.
  • Packaging must not be removed until assembly is to begin.
  • The manufacturer's installation instructions must be followed.
  • The supplier is not responsible for damage caused during or after assembly.
  • Go through the checklist for installation and complete the Installation report

5. Protection of stairs in building

  • During construction, the stairs must be protected against dirt, moisture and mechanical damage.
  • The building contractor is responsible for ensuring that damage to installed step guards etc. is rectified immediately and that the stairs are otherwise protected during the construction period.
  • Drömtrappor is not responsible for paint damage that occurred where unapproved tape was used when masking or installing step protection.
